The 27-year-old French basketball player talked to Le Parisien about the possible resumption of the NBA season as well as the current training situation in Orlando. Fournier said that there are times when he truly believes in the season’s resumption and some other times when he wouldn’t put his life in danger for just some extra money.

“I have periods when I believe in it, others when I believe less! At the moment, I’m in a mode where I don’t really believe in it. It seems complicated to set up. How many matches could we play? Are we going directly to the playoffs? It should not be forgotten that certain states are still closed and the teams located there will not be able to re-train as Orlando will be able to do in a week. There would be a real lack of equity. I think it would be better to forget about the season. If we find a “safe” and well thought out solution so that we can resume, we will all be hot! We all miss the simple fact of playing a basketball game. But we also don’t want to put our lives in danger, to play games that have no interest, just to say that we’re going to take some money.”

The Orlando Magic player also said that gradually he will be able to go back to training with his team:

“Yes, the NBA is our boss. The person to listen to is Adam Silver. It is only under his orders that we will have the right to replay. We will be able to resume gradually with our teams. From next week, I will have the right to go to the gym to do treatment, there will only be two players. And from May 8, we can resume with one player per basket and one coach.”
